Centrelink will provide booth in Batlow

Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack is pleased to advise that Centrelink will provide a staff member at the Batlow Co-Op on Monday 28 November.

The Centrelink advisor will be available between 9am – 12.30pm. They will assist people to assess their eligibility for such Centrelink assistance as the Newstart Allowance, Child Support and other social services.  There will also be the opportunity to be linked with job services Australia to look for other employment.

Mr McCormack has worked with the Minister for Human Services, Hon Tanya Plibersek to ensure that this assistance was made available for those affected by the November 9 hailstorms.

“The unexpected hailstorm caused widespread devastation to the Batlow area and I welcome Centrelink coming to Batlow to assist people affected. I will continue to work to ensure all that can be done to assist people is done.

“I have also written to the Attorney-General to see if there is any available federal assistance,” Mr McCormack said.

There is no need for people to make appointments for the day; you will be able to just turn up to the Batlow Co-Op located at 74 Forest Road, Batlow.
