ANZAC writing comp entries close this week

ENTRIES for a writing competition for Riverina school students run by local MP Michael McCormack close this Friday 14 March 2014.

The competition, which encourages students to write a creative and original piece of no more than 250 words about the ANZAC Centenary in the Riverina, was opened last month in a letter to the region’s principals.

Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, said he was very pleased with the calibre of entries received in the three years he has run the competition.

"Riverina students always demonstrate the best of their creative flair in this competition, so I would encourage students to get their entries in," Mr McCormack said.

All students who enter will receive a special commemorative certificate, with the Primary and Secondary school winners from each of the four regions featured in Mr McCormack’s booklets distributed to the Riverina ahead of ANZAC Day.

Winners will be presented with a book prize and commemorative certificate.

Entries should be received by Mr McCormack’s Wagga Wagga or Griffith electorate offices by this Friday 14 March 2014.
