ROUND one of the Federal Government’s landmark $1 billion National Stronger Regions Fund is now open, The Nationals’ Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has confirmed.
“Projects which deliver community infrastructure and economic development at the local level will be prioritised under this fund,” Mr McCormack said.
“The Government is focused on growing the economy and strengthening regional communities, and this fund, which will support a range of regional development initiatives, will deliver on our commitment from the last election.”
The National Stronger Regions Fund will provide local community projects with between $20,000 and $10 million, covering up to 50 per cent of project costs.
“This fund will allow local communities to identify the local projects which are needed to meet local needs,” Mr McCormack said.
“It will also encourage communities to engage with the private sector and possibly State and Local Governments as they determine their local infrastructure needs.
“This is a fantastic initiative and I encourage communities within the Riverina to consider projects which may be eligible under this program,” Mr McCormack said.
