Now in its seventh year, the Pilbara Women’s Network Event aims to support and empower women who are working in the Pilbara region through a series of valuable networking and professional development events.
Federal Member for Durack Melissa Price said the Pilbara Women’s Network Event will promote business development as well as create new business opportunities for women in the Pilbara region.
“Made possible by Liberal and Nationals’ Government funding, today’s business luncheon will see 120 female leaders enjoying the company of Cleo founder Ita Buttrose as keynote speaker and Jessica Brosnan – a local Karratha-based environmental educator,” Ms Price said.
“This is the third and final installation of a successful 2018 calendar of events, which included our International Women’s Day event in March and an ‘after five’ networking function in September.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Pilbara women’s networking events have become a regional institution over the past six years.
“With nine well-attended events, each providing support to the two core constituencies of women in the Pilbara region, and business owners and entrepreneurs, these networking events are a great example of business innovation and community spirit,” Mr McCormack said.
“By mentoring and assisting women to become leaders and achieve their full career potential, we are helping to secure the future of our regional leadership.”
The Pilbara Women’s Network Event was a jointly funded project with the Liberal and Nationals’ Government investing $75,000 and the Karratha Business Enterprise Centre Inc $25,000.
