Improving heavy vehicle productivity and safety across Australia
Heavy vehicle safety received another boost today, with Acting Prime Minister Michael McCormack announcing 93 road upgrade projects will share in a total of $132.5 million in federal funding under Round Six of the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program.

Work has begun on a new $12 million federally funded clinical and allied health educational facility in Coffs Harbour designed to attract students and help meet growing demand for allied health professionals in the city and surrounding region.

A new Cobaw Community Health Services centre, and the first stage of its surrounding bushland health and wellbeing park, are now officially open in Romsey, in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges.
NEW IMPROVED ACCESS TO WESTERN FREEWAY NOW COMPLETE
An upgrade improving access to the Western Freeway is now complete, with new entry and exit ramps at Halletts Way to enhance traffic flow and speed up travel times.
FURTHER GREAT ALPINE ROAD UPGRADES UNDER WAY
The popular tourist route along Gippsland’s Great Alpine Road is about to become safer and more reliable with construction now underway on seven kilometres of road improvements between Omeo and Swifts Creek.

FEDERAL FUNDING FLOWS FOR PORT WAKEFIELD OVERPASS AND DUPLICATION
The Federal Liberal and Nationals’ Government is partnering with the Marshall Liberal Government to deliver a $90 million project to duplicate Port Wakefield Road and build an overpass which will enable users of the road to avoid having to navigate the intersection with the Augusta and Copper Coast highways, expected to be completed in 2022.
