Inquiry into Small Business lending practices
The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman has been directed by the Turnbull Government to undertake an inquiry into the adequacy of the law to address concerns raised by the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services in its report, Impairment of Customer Loans.
Long Tan anniversary enshrined in commemorative coin
AUSTRALIA’S service and sacrifice in the Battle of Long Tan is set to be enshrined in a commemorative coin unveiled at the Royal Australian Mint. The special $5 uncirculated coin will mark the 50th anniversary this year of the battle. Small Business Minister Michael McCormack, who has portfolio responsibility for the Royal Australian Mint, said the coin was an important reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of many Australians.
The 2016 Census embraces the digital age

Delivering safer streets for Forbes
Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has today announced more than $13,000 from Round Two of the Coalition’s Safer Streets Programme to fund closed-circuit television (CCTV) in Forbes. The Safer Streets Programme supports communities at the grass roots to help address crime and anti-social behaviour, and boost crime prevention initiatives to keep our streets safe. Under this funding commitment, the Forbes Shire Council will receive $13,600 for the installation of two cameras at the Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre in Forbes.
