Nationals Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the Wagga Wagga Airport precinct.
If Mr McCormack is re-elected, along with an elected Coalition Government, $24 million will be invested towards an upgrade of the terminal at the airport.
Mr McCormack said the Wagga Wagga Airport was an important transport hub for the city and the surrounding region for business, recreation, and health purposes.
“The Wagga Wagga Airport is the gateway to the Riverina region – it is a link to capital cities for those who need to travel for medical appointments, it is there for those who travel for important business connections and, of course, it provides a launch pad for unforgettable holiday experiences for so many in and around the Wagga Wagga region,” Mr McCormack said.
“This is why I have fought hard to put $24 million on the table to get the airport terminal upgrades at Wagga Wagga off the ground.
“Only a Coalition Government will deliver tangible outcomes for regional and rural Australia and I pledge my ongoing dedication and commitment to continue delivering for the Riverina electorate as I have done for the past 14 years – both in Government and in Opposition. This is my promise to the people throughout the Riverina electorate.
“I again challenge the candidates running in this election to match this Coalition commitment – as I did in 2022. No one else stepped up to advocate for this important infrastructure upgrade that will provide local jobs and procurement as well as deliver the airport facilities the people of the Riverina deserve.
“The Nationals are the only party fully dedicated to delivering real outcomes for regional, rural and remote communities and I am proud to be a part of a team which stands up fiercely and fearlessly for those living and working west of the Great Dividing Range.”
