YOUTH IN YOUNG SET TO BENEFIT FROM COALITION GOVERNMENT

30 April 2025

An elected Coalition Government, with a Nationals’ Member for Riverina, will deliver $100,000 to support Boys to the Bush (BttB) programs in Young as part of a revitalised Safer Communities Fund.

“Vulnerable male youths in Young are set to be supported by the Coalition if elected to Government with a Nationals’ Member for Riverina,” Mr McCormack said.

“A Coalition Government will deliver $100,000 to the not-for-profit Boys to the Bush charity, which does a power of work to support young males who are disconnected from good people, places and opportunities within their local community.

“Growing up without strong and positive male role models can cause developmental issues in boys, which can result in poorer life outcomes and poorer integration into society.

“Consequently, it is important that we embrace prevention and early intervention strategies to change the trajectories of young males in these circumstances.

“It is far easier to build a strong boy than repair a broken man and the Coalition recognises the benefit these types of programs do to support the community and individuals.

“I look forward to the benefits this funding will bring Young and surrounds if the Coalition is elected to Government.”

Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Cyber Security, Senator James Paterson said under a Dutton Coalition Government, the Riverina community will be safer and better supported.

“Getting Australia Back on Track means keeping Australia safe – safe for families, safe for businesses, and safe for communities,” Senator Paterson said.

“Projects delivered under the Safer Communities Fund will help local communities to provide practical support to at-risk youth and give them the opportunities they need to succeed.”

This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
