McCormack welcomes review into backpacker tax

The Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has today welcomed the Government’s announcement that a review will be conducted into the backpacker tax.The review will examine the application of the non-permanent resident tax rate to backpackers, which was due to commence on 1 July 2016. Changes to the tax arrangements for working holiday makers will be deferred by six months pending the outcome of the review.
