McCormack announces ANZAC grants
Communities across the region have been successful in gaining funding as part of the ANZAC Centenary Local Grants program. Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has announced nine projects commemorating the First World War to receive amounts up to $10.000.
McCormack Delivers Headspace for Griffith
THE Nationals’ Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has today announced a new headspace facility for Griffith and the western Riverina.“I am delighted to confirm a headspace facility will be built in Griffith as part of the 15 new headspaces throughout Australia funded in this year’s Budget,” Mr McCormack said.
Applications open for National Stronger Regions Fund
ROUND one of the Federal Government’s landmark $1 billion National Stronger Regions Fund is now open, The Nationals’ Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has confirmed.
“Projects which deliver community infrastructure and economic development at the local level will be prioritised under this fund,” Mr McCormack said.
Riverina Councils to share in $8.4 million in Roads to Recovery funding
RIVERINA MP Michael McCormack has welcomed the delivery of the Federal Government’s $2.1 billion Roads to Recovery Program, in which Riverina Councils are eligible for more than $8.4 million for local road construction and street repairs in this financial year.“This is fantastic news for the Riverina region. Our allocation of $8,410,213 for the 2014-15 year will enable the thirteen Councils in our electorate to build roads, repair streets and create better access across our communities,” Mr McCormack said.
Another Win for Gundagai
ANOTHER Gundagai School has benefited from Commonwealth funding to upgrade facilities, with Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack’s announcement of $470,744 from the Coalition Government’s Capital Grants Programme for St Patrick’s Primary School.“I’m pleased and proud the Australian Government has made this funding available,” Mr McCormack said.

$25k grant for seatbelts on MIA school buses
FEDERAL Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has announced Griffith Buslines will receive a $24,899.25 grant from the Federal Government to install seatbelts in their buses.“This is fantastic news for Griffith Buslines. We all know how important seatbelts are on country roads and this will help Griffith Buslines ensure MIA students get to and from school safely,” Mr McCormack said.

Infrastructure over buybacks is key
THE Nationals’ Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has welcomed the Government’s Water Recovery Strategy recommendation that investment be made in on-farm efficiencies and infrastructure, rather than buybacks.“Through moving the disallowance motion on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan in late 2012, I was able to secure a commitment from the Coalition that buybacks would be capped at 1500 gigalitres,” Mr McCormack said.
