ELECTRICITY prices almost double that of New South Wales and Victoria sees South Australian businesses significantly disadvantaged, small business owners have told a Regional Small Business Roadshow held by Federal Small Business Minister Michael McCormack.

Energy prices cripple SA business

SOUTH Australia’s sky-rocketing electricity prices are a handbrake to the State’s small businesses, according to the first meeting of the nationwide Small Business Roadshow.

Starting today in Kingswood, Small Business Minister Michael McCormack and local MP Nicolle Flint heard how South Australia’s energy costs hamper growth and expansion, leaving small business uncertain about its future.

Small business Roadshow kicks off in Adelaide

TAX cuts, reductions in red tape and levelling the playing field for small business through fairer competition policy is front and centre in a nationwide roadshow starting today, Small Business Minister Michael McCormack says.

Starting in suburban Adelaide, the roadshow will meet directly with small businesses over shop counters, farm gates and kitchen tables in home businesses, as well as local forums, as the Small Business Minister continues fighting for a fairer deal for Australia’s 2.1 million small businesses.
