Riverina Christmas colouring competition winner announced

The Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina and Minister for Small Business, Michael McCormack today announced the winner of the 2016 Riverina electorate colouring competition.

The theme for this year’s competition was “Christmas in the Riverina and Central West” and Mr McCormack said that this year’s competition was one of his toughest to judge yet, with close to 1000 entries from across the width and breadth of the newly formed electorate.

Free Wi-Fi trial for Temora residents

Temora residents can connect to free Wi-Fi at their local Department of Human Services Agent thanks to a new trial announced by the Nationals’ Member for Riverina, Michal McCormack.

Temora is one of four sites in New South Wales currently offering free Wi-Fi access to connect to Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services, and nearly 1000 government and community websites.

Cameras to improve community safety in Temora

Police and security agencies will soon have more than an extra set of eyes on the streets of Temora, now that a funding agreement has been executed to deliver 16 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras for the town.

The Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack today announced that as part of Round Two of the Coalition Government’s Safer Streets Program 10 CCTV cameras would soon be installed in Temora’s central business district and six CCTV cameras at Lake Centenary.

Young is set to get a big bite of the NBN cherry according to the Nationals’ MP and Minister for Small Business Michael McCormack, as part of the fixed line area of the National Broadband Network (NBN) goes live this week making superfast broadband available to more than 2700 homes and businesses, meaning those in the northern part of the town can begin ordering their NBN service from a retail service provider this week and the remaining premises will be connected in early January 2017.
