McCormack calls for more ANZAC grant submissions

RIVERINA MP Michael McCormack has called for more applications for projects to be submitted as part of the Australian Government’s ANZAC Centenary Local Grants Program. 

“The Riverina has $125,000 in funding to commemorate very important occasion in our nation’s history. I encourage local organisations to consider whether this funding can go towards their recognition of the Riverina’s contribution to World War I,” Mr McCormack said. 

McCormack honours 100th VC winner

FEDERAL Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, paid tribute to late Corporal Cameron Stewart Baird VC MG, who was posthumously awarded a Victoria Cross for Australia this morning. “Like thousands of other recruits, Corporal Baird undertook his training at the Kapooka Army Base in Wagga Wagga when he enlisted in the Army on 4 January 2000,” Mr McCormack said.

McCormack confirms $5½ million in Trades Training Centre funding

THE Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has today confirmed more than $5½ million funding for Trades Training Centres throughout the region.

“The Coalition will fund the Round Five (Phase One) Trades Training Centre projects which is fantastic for Riverina students,” Mr McCormack said. 

Premier to tackle Tumbatrek again

NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell, will participate in the annual Tumbatrek bushwalk through the Snowy Mountains on Saturday 1 February 2014, local MPs Michael McCormack and Greg Aplin have announced today. 

“I am very pleased the Premier is going to come back to Tumbarumba to participate in Tumbatrek,” Mr Aplin said.

This year has again shown the strength and resilience of the people of the Riverina. From the devastating fires which swept through the region at the beginning of the year to the recent frost damage which has struck many of the Riverina’s farmers, 2013 has certainly been a year of highs and lows in our region. 

McCormack congratulates ‘outstanding’ HSC results

RIVERINA MP Michael McCormack has congratulated the region’s Year 12 students on the release of the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) scores today.

“The Riverina has had some terrific results again this year,” Mr McCormack said.
