McCormack welcomes $137k funding for local project

THE Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, today welcomed the announcement of $137,550 in federal government funding for the Food I Am project.

Based in Wagga Wagga, Food I Am is a regional agri-tourism enterprise supporting regional producers and providing quality food experiences.

Coalition welcomes construction of new Wagga Wagga mental health facility

FEDERAL Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, today welcomed the first stage of construction for Wagga Wagga’s new mental health facility.
The National Rural Health Alliance says rural suicide rates are twice as prevalent as those in major metropolitan centres. This new centre aims to address those statistics. 

McCormack raises palliative care and prostate biopsy concerns in Parliament

THE Nationals’ Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has raised the lack of palliative care and prostate biopsy services in Wagga Wagga in Federal Parliament this week.

Speaking to the House of Representatives, Mr McCormack told Parliament how crucial securing palliative care services in Wagga Wagga is for the city. 
 

One week left to enter MP’s writing competition

WITH just one week to go until entries in the annual ANZAC writing competition close, Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has urged students to submit their pieces to be in the running to win stunning ANZAC books.

“I am pleased with the calibre of entries received so far, and encourage students to continue writing about ANZAC Day in the Riverina for this competition,” Mr McCormack said.

Health visit productive: McCormack

FEDERAL Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has said yesterday’s visit by Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health Services, Dr Andrew Laming, and New South Wales Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health, Melinda Pavey, was very productive for the region. 

“Health is a critical issue in the Riverina, and it is something which remains a high priority for the Coalition at both the state and federal levels,” Mr McCormack said.
 

Coalition Health Spokesman to visit region

THE Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has welcomed the announcement of a visit by Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Health Services and Indigenous Health, Dr Andrew Laming, next week.

Dr Laming will visit Gundagai, where he will attend the opening of a Multi-Purpose Centre. He will then travel to Wagga Wagga to meet with General Practitioners and specialists to discuss regional health.

McCormack calls on first-time voters to enrol

JUST one in every two people aged 18 and 19 are enrolled to vote at the next Federal Election, according to the Australian Electoral Commission.

With a Federal election date set by the Prime Minister for September 14, The Nationals’ Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack, has encouraged people aged 18-21 to enrol to vote with the AEC.

Entries open for MP’s ANZAC writing competition

ENTRIES are now open for the annual ANZAC Day writing competition organised by Federal Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack.
In a letter sent to school Principals last week, Mr McCormack invited students from local high schools and primary schools to write a poem, essay or short story, no longer than 250 words, about “ANZAC Day in the Riverina”.
